The Kin book is an old clasp-type school binder. There are some Loose Pages as well as the various hand-drawn charts and notes. This was originally assembled by Robert Pope Callard from various family sources. I’ve included and transcribed the pages.

Intro letter from Robert Callard

This first page describes the purpose of the following trees and notes.

KIN

As a matter of record, primarily for my sons, I have collected what information was available regarding our past and present relatives. I have show this data diagramatically because it is easier and more interesting fo follow.

I will be of particular value to those parents who have to supply information to their high school students when in the study of biology they must make a “family tree”.

I am grateful to those of you who supplied the data requested and appreciate especially the information my cousin Esther Pope Wheeler sent which had been handed down for generations.

Please let me know of errors of any kind and additions you think would be interesting and I will send you new sheets for your book.

Signed Robert Pope Callard/VFD

Charleston, West Virginia 1934

The VFD at the end must be for Virginia Florence Dykstal (née Oakes). Esther Pope Wheeler (née Mary Esther Pope) was the sister of Rachel Fidelia Pope and married to George Wheeler.

Mentioned: Robert Pope Callard, Virginia Florence Oakes, Mary Esther Pope
